Mittens will need a patient, understanding person who’s willing to give him the time and space he needs to come out of his shell. New environments and unfamiliar faces can be a bit overwhelming for him at first, but with consistency and kindness, he slowly begins to show his softer side.

One of the quickest ways to win him over is with a gentle head scratch, his absolute favorite. Once he starts to trust you, those quiet moments of connection become incredibly special and rewarding.

He does have an old injury to his right eye, which gives him a unique look and adds to his story. It doesn’t stop him from enjoying life, but it’s a reminder that he’s been through a lot and deserves a calm, loving home where he can feel secure.
